The countdown for the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup has started with all the teams gearing up for the much-awaited event. The Indian team is working hard in the practice camp which is going on in Alur, Karnataka. The Men in Blue are doing their batting practice in pairs as part of a game simulation. Rohit Sharma joined hands with Shubman Gill followed by the pair of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. One of the clips went viral on social media where Virat was spotted batting with Ravindra Jadeja as both batters were facing the spinners.

It was most likely a part of match situation simulations where both players were looking to play in a sensible manner. On the other hand, there has been a debate going on over KL Rahul’s fitness after he found a place in the India squad for the Asia Cup 2023. The Chief selector Ajit Agarkar informed the media that he was suffering from a slight niggle.

However, KL Rahul did some wicket-keeping practice where he was helped by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma at the ongoing practice camp in Alur, Karnataka. Previously, Rahul did some batting practice with Suryakumar Yadav at the No. 5 and No. 6 slots respectively in a match simulation. Earlier, former India skipper Virat Kohli took part in the yo-yo test where he scored 17.2, proving that he is one of the fittest cricketers ever.

“The happiness of finishing the yo-yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done”, he wrote on his Instagram story.

The much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash is slated to take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, in Kandy, Sri Lanka on September 2. The upcoming edition of the Asia Cup will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka where three group stage matches and one Super Four game will take place in Pakistan while the Island nation will host the rest of the games alongside the final which will be held in Colombo on September 17.
