India were off to a dream start in the New Year's Test at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town on Wednesday. While the visitors were asked to bowl first, Mohammed Siraj's spell meant it was a great toss to lose for Team India as they bowled out the Proteas for 55 runs. Siraj got six wickets inside 9 overs and ended up with exceptional spell of 6/15. He became only the second Indian bowler after Maninder Singh to pick a five-wicket haul before lunch on Day 1.
However, it was not all about intense cricket action in the first session. There were a few light moments on the field as well but perhaps none gathered more attention that Virat Kohli's Lord Rama's Dhanush pose which he gave as Keshav Maharaj walked out to bat. The incident happened at the fall of the sixth wicket with Marco Jansen departing and the scoreboard reading 34/6. Precisely then as Maharaj walked out, Hindi song 'Ram Siya Ram' began playing at the stadium which is when Kohli did the iconic pose.

India Already In The Lead In IND vs SA 2nd Test
Meanwhile, India have already taken the lead in this second Test match after bowling the Proteas out for a lowest team total by any opposition against them. Even though Yashasvi Jaiswal departed for a duck, Rohit Sharma took the attacking approach and scored a flurry of boundaries to ensure India race towards South Africa's total of 55 without any hiccups and then takes strides towards a massive first innings lead.
Rohit eventually got out for 39 but not before India had already taken the lead. Shubman Gill also looks confident as India look to level the series after losing the series opener by an innings and 32 runs.
