Indian seam bowler Mohammad Shami turned a year older on Thursday to celebrate his 30th birthday. Birthday greeting from the cricketing fraternity, BCCI, Shami's team mates in the national team as well as IPL franchisee Kings Eleven Punjab have been pouring in all day long for the tearaway speedster who has been an integral part of the power-packed seam attack in both Test and ODI cricket.

India skipper Virat Kohli also joined the bandwagon by taking to social media on Thursday and extending birthday wishes to his strike bowler Mohammed Shami. Kohli's tweet read, "Happy b' day Shami @MdShami11. Mehnat aur bowling dono karte raho daba ke."




Shami's bowling partners Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav also wished the speedster on his 30th birthday.


Shami's Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) also wished the cricketer by posting a series of pictures and videos on social media.

“@MdShami11 of House KXIP, the First of his Name, and the Breaker of the Stumps,” KXIP captioned one of their posts.




Shami, who will spearhead the Kings XI Punjab's fast bowling attack in the upcoming edition of the IPL in UAE, has played a pivotal role along with along with Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav in making India one of the most well rounded seam attacks in the world .

Shami is only the fifth Indian pacer to take five wickets in the fourth innings of a Test after Karsan Ghavri, Kapil Dev, Madan Lal and Javagal Srinath.

Shami is known to be an outright wicket taker in both formats of the game, returned with match winning spells in Test series against England and Australia and was in red hot form in the 2019 ICC World Cup, where he took a magnificent hat-trick to dismantle Afghanistan.Shami is also the second-highest wicket-taker at ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 and 2019.

With 144 wickets in just 77 ODIs for India at an average of 25.4 and a strike rate of 27.2, Shami's best is yet to come in white-ball cricket.
