Mumbai, 30 March, 2021: After spending a lot of time in the bio-bubbles and quarantine during England’s tour of India, team India got to interact and understand each other better. The pandemic had its effect on the mental health of the players, however, as it reveals it had some positive impacts as well. Constantly staying together has ‘renewed friendship’ between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the two ace players in the Indian cricket team.
There were constant rumors about the two players not getting along very well. But a TOI report has confirmed that Virat and Rohit – helped by coach Shastri and team management – got together and sat across a table to “talk it out” during the long India vs England series. Both of them, as learned have decided to start on a fresh note.

A TOI source said that: “Apart from winning two big series, that’s been the biggest gain in Team India’s dressing room. A great deal of personal bonding has happened in recent weeks and they’re more in sync now than ever with regards to cricket, the team, their responsibilities and upcoming challenges. They understand now, more than ever, that the team will only benefit if they find themselves on the same page. This has been the biggest takeaway in the last four months.”

The improved relationship also reflected in the T20I series when Kohli promoted himself up the order to open the innings with Rohit Sharma. After a failed opening combination for four matches, India finally performed well in the last T20I when Kohli and Rohit opened the batting together.
Kohli and Rohit are understood to have improved their relationship. The extra time on-hand due to the pandemic has helped the top Indian players develop their relationship.
