AUS Vs IND, 3rd Test: Travis Head registers yet another fifty against India, as Australia are in a comfortable position in the third Test match against India at The Gabba in Brisbane.
Day 2 started on a tough note for the home side after being reduced to 75/3, but Travis Head and Steve Smith have restored stability, and the Indian bowlers are once again, looking helpless against the former.
Travis Head pulled the short-length ball of Mohammed Siraj for a double to reach his fifty, and with that, the batting all-rounder has achieved the following feats:
- 18th test fifty
- 3rd consecutive 50+ score in Tests vs India
Here's a look at Travis Head's sensational shot off Jasprit Bumrah's bowling:
Steve Smith Regains Much-Needed Form
As if Travis Head was not enough for India, their decade-long problem by the name of Steve Smith has seen a resurrection in his form, as the legendary batsman finally scores a 50+ scores after a run of 7 underperforming innings.
Steve Smith has been heavily struggling for form in red-ball cricket as of late, a stat that seems extremely baffling, given that the Australian is regarded arguably the greatest Test batsman of the modern era.
Inspite of his poor run in Tests in 2024, the 35-year-old still averages above 56 in Tests, and can very much boost his average if he managed to reach the triple-digit mark and remain unbeaten.

'Smudge's last fifty came at the same venue, in a losing cause, as he remained unbeaten of 91, during West Indies' historic Test win, where debutant Shamar Joseph shone with an iconic spell.
