Virat Kohli shared an emotional note on social media, as AB De Villiers announced retirement from all forms of cricket. The South African was Virat Kohli's long-standing partner at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League.

The Indian captain got emotional while bidding adieu to his RCB teammate.

"To the best player of our times and the most inspirational person I've met, you can be very proud of what you've done and what you've given to RCB my brother," Kohli wrote on Twitter.

"Our bond is beyond the game and will always be," he added.

Expressing his sadness on the occasion, Kohli wrote, "This hurts my heart but I know you've made the best decision for yourself and your family like you've always done. I love you"

Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers have scored the most number of century partnerships in IPL cricket. The dynamic duo has piled up ten century partnership stands for RCB.

It is unfortunate for the cricket fans that they will never be able to witness this partnership ever again. RCB would be incomplete without the Kohli-De Villiers duo!
