Former Team India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni recently attended an event and several videos have gone viral of him speaking on various topics. Interestingly, Dhoni responded to the social media trend ‘Thala For A Reason,’ which was started by his fans. Dhoni, one of the biggest sports figures in the world, let alone India, is celebrated with the same vigour after his retirement from international cricket as he was celebrated back when he used to don the Team India blue jersey.
‘Thala for a reason’ is more than just a phrase, it's a deep emotion for MS Dhoni's fans. Known as 'Thala,' meaning 'leader' in Tamil, Dhoni has inspired a strong following in Chennai and beyond, thanks to his stint as CSK captain, and the emotional bond he's formed with his fans is beyond any numbers could define.

I Am Grateful To My Fans: MS Dhoni
In a viral social media video from what seems like a recent event, MS Dhoni mentioned that he was unaware of the trend and expressed his gratitude to his fans for supporting him on social media.
"Even I got to know about this via Instagram. So, I'm grateful for my fans as I don't have to defend myself on social media. Whenever I needed to defend my fans do it. Whenever needed my fans praise me. So I'm not required to do anything I guess so this was part of this too." Dhoni said.
"I'm grateful to my fans. Even though I'm not very active social media user, still they wait for me to post and they just love it." he added.

After retiring from international cricket, MS Dhoni continued in the IPL, stepping down as captain for the 2024 season and passing the role to Ruturaj Gaikwad. CSK did not reach the playoffs under Gaikwad, finishing fifth in the league. Nonetheless, Dhoni excelled with the bat, scoring 161 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate over 220.
