Team India had to seek accomodation in Delhi in a hotel other than their preferred ones owing to the G20 Summit and the wedding season in the country, a fresh report has claimed. While India won their opening Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur, they are in Delhi for the second Test of the four-match affair set to commence on Februrary 17.

It is being reported that even though team usually stays in Taj Palace or ITC Maurya in Delhi, this time around they couldn't get a stay in those hotels and are staying in Hotel Leela in Karkarduma.

"This time team is staying in a different hotel which is in another part of Delhi, the hotel is in Karkarduma as we didn't get a stay in ITC Maurya or Taj. This happen because of the heavy wedding season and G20," a source close to Team India was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Furthermore, it is being learnt that start India batter Virat Kohli is not staying with the rest of his teammates. As Kohli belong to Delhi, this time around he decided to spend some time with his family members in town and is staying their house in Gurugram.

Kohli even shared an image of himself driving to the Arun Jaitley Stadium for a practice session. A video later surfaced on social media in which the right-handed batter was seen making a stylish exit from the stadium in a luxurious car.

The Delhi Test is set to be Kohli's first international match in the National Capital in 4 years. His last match here was a One Day International in March 2019. His last Test match came even before that in December 2017. Even though India are leading 1-0, they would want Kohli to make a big score moving forward in the series especially after just 12 came from his bat in the only time the hosts batted in the first Test.
