Former External Minister Sushma Swaraj, 67, passed away on Tuesday at the AIIMS. She was admitted to AIIMS after complaint of chest pain. One of the most prominent woman face in the Indian Politics, Swaraj took her last breathe on August 6 at AIIMS in the national capital. The Former External Affairs Minister passed away due to cardiac arrest. 


According to ANI, mortal remains of Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will be taken from AIIMS to her Delhi residence and will be kept there tonight.

A number of senior ministers rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences including Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Veteran cricketers Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter to express their condolences and grief over the demise of the former foreign minister.










Swaraj had put out a tweet in the evening congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Centre's bold move to revoke special status for Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcate the border state into two Union Territories secured Parliament's approval.

"Thank you Prime Minister. Thank you very much. I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime," she said.
