SA20 2025 Auction: The SA20 2025, set to get underway on January 9, 2025, saw its auction take place on October 1 (Wednesday) at Cape Town. Only 113 spots were available out of 188 cricketers, from South Africa and around the world, who enrolled for the auction. MI Cape Town splurged money on the Proteas opener Reeza Hendricks who went on to be the most expensive buy in this season’s auction.  Meanwhile, two-time champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape splashed money on England fast bowler Richard Gleeson.

Reeza Hendricks was sold to Cape Town for R4.30 million after an intense bidding war with Pretoria Capitals whereas Richard Gleeson was sold for R2.3 million, to the Sunrisers. West Indies bowler Shamar Joseph went unsold initially but was later picked up by Durban Super Giants.
