Team India captain and Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit Sharma recently presented India pacer Mohammed Siraj, who is playing for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, with a specially crafted ring in recognition of his contribution to India’s victorious T20 World Cup 2024 campaign last year, held in the USA and the West Indies.

In a video shared by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), Rohit Sharma can be seen personally handing over the commemorative ring to Siraj ahead of the MI vs GT IPL 2025 match on May 6 (Tuesday) at the Wankhede Stadium. The Indian team received their ‘Champions’ rings at the Naman Awards last year, but Siraj was notably absent from the ceremony and missed the felicitation at the time.

Rohit acknowledged Siraj’s role in India’s T20 World Cup campaign and noted his absence from the earlier felicitation ceremony.

"This is for Mohammed Siraj. We missed you at the function, played a vital role in our T20 campaign. So, I'm proudly presenting him a very very special ring which was made for all of us. Unfortunately, Siraj wasn't there, so I would like to present to Mr. Siraj," said Rohit in the video.

Siraj featured in just three matches during the T20 World Cup 2024, picking up a solitary wicket. With Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah delivering standout performances and playing crucial roles in India's title-winning campaign, Siraj was sidelined for the remainder of the competition.
