India have somehow managed to pull a rabbit out of their hand in Kanpur. When only 35 overs were bowled in the first three days of the second Test match with days two and three being called off without a ball being bowled, it appeared that the might would end up as a draw. However, India captain Rohit Sharma had just one thing in mind- play to win. What transpired over the next two days has resuled in India's win over Bangladesh by 7 wickets with over a session to go on Day 5.
India notched up the fastest Team 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 on their way to their lowest first innings declaration ever as they declared at 285/9 after bowling Bangladesh out for 233 in the first innings. The hosts then even managed to bowl Bangladesh out for 146 in the second innings, thanks to a sublime bowling performance with Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin all sharing three wickets apiece in the second innings and Akash Deep getting a wicket.

Eventually, India chased down their target of 95 runs in 17.2 overs, registering a win and clinching the series 2-0. After the match, the Indian skipper explained the team's strategy in Kanpur that helped them emerge victorious.
"To be honest we had to think a lot to keep the game moving forward. When we came on day four, we wanted to get them out as early as possible and see what we can do with the bat. It was not about the runs we get but the overs we wanted to bowl at them. The pitch didn't have much for bowlers but to get a game out of that pitch was a great effort from the bowlers. The batters were willing to take the risk and we were ready to give ourselves a chance at a result," Rohit said.

India will now take on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series before a home Test series against New Zealand.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was awarded the Player Of The Match for a blistering half-century in each of the two innings in Kanpur.
