Meanwhile, Pant is set to be India's preferred wicketkeeper-batter in the T20 World Cup 2024. India have gone ahead with Sanju Samson and Pant as the two wicketkeeper-batters for their campaign in the United States of America (USA) and the Caribbean islands. With Samson best suited in the top three but the top-order packed with Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, Pant is expected to feature in the middle-order.
India will play three of their four group stage matches in New York. Ireland, Pakistan and USA are the three teams that they play in New York while India vs Canada is scheduled to take place at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill in Florida. All of India's group stage matches are set to commence at 08:00 pm (Indian Standard Time).
