Virat Kohli starred with the bat against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup match on Sunday. He started where he left off in the Asia Cup and smashed a brilliant 82 not out. Pakistan tried their best to control Virat Kohli by asking Harris Rauf to bowl the 19th over but then Kohli had other plans. He smashed two sixes on the final two balls of the 19th over. Haris Rauf delivered a slower one on the fifth ball and Kohli timed it well and hammered it down the ground for a six. He again hit another one and got the same result.
Ravi Shastri, former India coach talked about the two sixes by Virat Kohli. In an interview with The Indian Express, he said, "In all my years of playing and watching India vs Pakistan, those two sixes off Haris Rauf are two of the greatest shots played by an Indian batsman. The only comparison is Tendulkar’s six off Shoaib Akhtar in Centurion in 2003 World Cup. These are two of the greatest cricketers of our time. Tendulkar's knock had some of the magnificent shots played in white-ball cricket against Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar. And then this Kohli's knock. These two are the biggest knocks I have seen where quality fast bowling has been taken apart”.
Virat Kohli played a blinder of an innings where he scored 53-ball 82 not out in the big-ticket match. India are playing the Netherlands at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.
