Samson achieved a personal best milestone in his IPL career as he notched up his fastest fifty in RR's season opener against CSK. Samson registered his half-century in just 19 balls against Chennai Super Kings with 6 massive sixes and a lone boundary.

His previous best was a 24-ball half-ton for Delhi Capitals against the Gujarat Lions at the Feroz Shah Kotla in the 2017 edition of the league.

Samson's half-ton was also the joint-second fastest half-century along with Owais Shah for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Jos Buttler's 18-ball 50 against Delhi Capitals in the last edition happens to be the fastest half-century for RR in the IPL.

Samson smoked 9 sixes in his blistering knock to help Rajasthan post a mammoth 216-run total.

Meanwhile, CSK will have to break the record for the highest run chase in IPL history to win the match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
