New Delhi: India’s top order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has thanked his teammates for finishing the match early against Bangladesh in Hyderabad on Monday.

India bundled Bangladesh before tea on day 5 with Ashwin and Jadeja grabbing four wickets each to dismantle the visitors

Meanwhile, the early finish gave batsman Cheteshwar Pujara an opportunity to meet his wife on their fourth wedding anniversary.

It’s my wedding anniversary, really proud that the guys have finished the match early for me,” said Pujara during an interview to host broadcasters

When he was asked whether it is true that players say he doesn’t get sleep after missing out on a century, Pujara said: “Most of the time they are. Recently, I’ve been missing out on hundreds, got out on 70s, 80s. Overall, I’m in good form.

“I think it all started from the Duleep Trophy. I wasn’t getting big scores, but once I got that double hundred there, my footwork came along, my concentration came along. I’m really happy with the way the season’s gone,” he said.
