The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has pledged a handsome sum of money to each player as prize money if Pakistan go on to win T20 World Cup 2024. The decision was announced by the cricket board on Sunday (May 5). Notably, the T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be co-hosted by the Caribbean Islands the United States of America (USA) in June.



PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi made the announcement after having speat a good amount of time with the players before they departed for their away T20 series against Ireland and England on Monday (May 6). Naqvi said that the prize money meant nothing in comparison to the T20 World Cup triumph. He hopes that Babar Azam & Co. would be able to make the country proud.

Meanwhile, a report carried by news agency PTI has confirmed that Naqvi told the players to not worry about anyone's opinion but to play for the country. While hes said that all the players were united, he was hopeful that the left-arm speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi would be able to deliver the goods, come the T20 World Cup.


During the time that he spent with the players, PCB chairman Naqvi handed out shirts to players who recently reached respective milestones. While Mohammad Rizwan was given a shirt for completing 3,000 T20 runs, fast bowler Naseem Shah was also given a shirt as a recognition for completing 100 T20 wickets.

Pakistan Begin Their T20 World Cup 2024 Campaign On June 6


Meanwhile, Pakistan are set to begin their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on June 6. They take on USA in Texas in their campaign opener before the marquee encounter against India on June 9 in New York. They will meet Canada and Ireland on June 11 and June 16 respectively in their group-stage fixtures.
