While the T20 World Cup 2024 is less than a month away with the first match of the marquee cricket event set to be played on June 1, in a shocking piece of news it is now being reported that the Cricket West Indies (CWI) has received a 'terror threat' over hosting the global cricketing competition. Notably, USA and the Carribean Islands are co-hosting the T20 World Cup 2024.

Despite the threat, CWI have assued that proper checks and balances are in place to ensure there is no risk to the major event where England will enter as the defending champions.

"We work closely with authorities in the host countries and cities, and continually monitor and evaluate the global landscape to ensure appropriate plans are in place to mitigate any risks identified to our event," Jonny Graves, the CEO of the CWI told Cricbuzz which confirmed the news of the 'terror attack'.
