PAK vs SL 1st Test: Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi completed his 100 Test wickets during his team's first Test match against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium on Sunday. Afridi is now the 19th Pakistani cricketer to attain this milestone. The 23-year old dismissed Sri Lanka opener Nishan Madushka in just second over to achieve the feat. Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 1st Test is officially Shaheen Afridi's comeback in the longest format after almost a year. In last year's Sri Lanka vs Pakistan Test series at Galle, the star pacer injured his knee caused by landing awkwardly near the boundary rope while trying to stop the ball.

On Day 1 of Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 1st Test, the left-arm pacer rattled Sri Lanka's top-order by bagging three quick wickets to leave them tottering at 53/4. With these wickets, Afridi also completed his 100 Test wickets. After end of Day 1's play, Pakistan's senior batter Mohammad Rizwan presented Afridi with a memento for his '100 Test wickets milestone' as rest of the dressing room lauded the pacer with thunderous claps. Since Shaheen Afridi made his debut in Test cricket in 2018, no Pakistani bowler has been able to take more wickets than him in the format.

After recovering from his knee injury, Afridi made his international comeback for 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, but twisted that previously-injured right knee in the final, injuring himself once again. The star pacer finally returned to cricketing action in the early 2023 with Pakistan Super League, the T20 tournament he won while playing for Lahore Qalandars. He then featured in a 10-match limited overs series against New Zealand in April.
