The young Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain has been banned from bowling by International Cricket Council (ICC). The ICC initiated this ban after it was found out that Hasnain breached the 15-degree limit for elbow extension.
There was a complaint regarding Hasnain's bowling action during the match between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers on January 2 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the Big Bash League (BBL). After this, his action was investigated by the Lahore University of Management Sciences. The investigation report was analyzed in Australia and in this his bowling action was found to be illegal.
On this basis, the ICC has banned him from bowling till the next investigation is found correct. However, the ICC has left it to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to decide whether the pacer will play their domestic tournaments. The PCB has also decided not to allow him to bowl for the time being.
“The PCB today received a formal and detailed report from Cricket Australia on Mohammad Hasnain’s assessment test, which stated his elbow extension for his good length delivery, full-length delivery, slow bouncer and bouncer exceeded the 15-degree limits.
As per illegal bowling action regulations, Hasnain can only resume bowling in international cricket once he clears his reassessment," a statement by ICC read.

"The PCB will now appoint a bowling consultant who will work with Mohammad Hasnain so that he can rectify his bowling action and be ready for a reassessment," the ICC statement added.
Shoaib Akhtar, Abdur Razzaq and Saeed Ajmal were other Pakistani bowlers who were banned from bowling.
