T20 World Cup 2024: The Pakistan Cricket Board, on Wednesday, May 1, announced that the squad announcement for the T20 World Cup 2024 has been delayed until further notice. The decision comes in via a report of PTI, where they stated that in a series of latest developments, it has been speculated that the fitness of players and their performance is the major reason behind the call, and that, the final squad will be announced in late May (somewhere around May 23 or 24).
As reported by PTI, a PCB source gave an insider on the exact reasons behind the delay.
"It (delay) doesn't matter because all these teams can change their entire squad by 24th May after that changes can only be allowed on fitness or injury basis with approval of the technical committee," he said. That is why the PCB and selectors have decided to hold off until after the first match in England. For the time being we have sent a provisional squad to the ICC for public relations and promotion purposes," said the PCB source to PTI.
