Southampton: Indian team management was reportedly upset after 6 New Zealand players 'breached the bio-bubble' at the Ageas Bowl Stadium here. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to file a formal complaint against it.

‘We have been informed about the matter by the team management. ICC needs to have similar protocols for both teams. We will raise the issue with ICC officials’, said the senior BCCI member currently in Mumbai told Inside Sports.

As reported by Cricbuzz, New Zealand team's Trent Boult, Daryl Michell, Henry Nicholls, Tim Southee, Mitchell Santner, and physio Tommy Simsek went out to play golf inside the Ageas Bowl's premises. While the Kiwis enjoyed their game of golf, the Indian team was confined with their families on their respective floors. This might have angered the Indian team management and the Indian players.

"The players and families have all been formally told not to move out of their respective floors inside the hotel unless it is for visiting the ground. Now, this morning we came to know six Kiwis playing in the golf course," a team member told Cricbuzz.

But, it has to be pointed that the golf course is located on the premises of Ageas Bowl in Southampton. New Zealand players have been living in England for more than two weeks and have completed their mandatory quarantine while the Indian players have to complete their 10-day quarantine period.

The Kiwis can freely move around inside the bio-bubble premise and thus believe that they haven't broken any protocol.

The World Test Championship Final will be played on 18 June 2021. It will start at 3:30 pm in India.
