New York Warriors skipper Misbah-ul-Haq was in great form when he came out to bat with his side in a spot of bother. While the team had lost two wickets off successive deliveries, the former Pakistan captain realised that he had no time to waste and had to take the attack to the opposition which he did during his stay at the wicket. He smashed Morrisville Unity's leader Harbhajan Singh for a six and a four to begin his innings.

However, that wasn't it. The right-handed batter put his feet on the accelerator and raced from 20 off 11 to end up at a strike rate of over 271. He scored 18 runs off two legal balls off Navin Stewart in what was the seventh over of the innings. His effort included a maximum off a no-ball. Stewart did get the wicket of Misbah but this was when the batter was looking to clear the fence for the fourth successive ball and had already provided momentum into the innings.

Video highlights of his innings has been shared on social media.

Riding on Misbah's 14-ball 38, New York Warriors posted 139/6 in 10 overs. In response, Morrisville Unity could only manage 106 despite Shehan Jayasuriya's 24-ball 44. Consequently, New York Warriors ended up winning the match by 33 runs. Unsurprisingly, Misbah-ul-Haq was adjudged the Player of the Match for playing an innings that changed the complexion of the match.

The victory takes New York Warriors to 10 points from 7 matches and they find themselves at the top of the points table with 5 wins and 2 defeats. Morrisville Unity, by contrast, have 7 points from as many matches with 3 wins, 3 defeats and a match ending in no-result. The top four teams in the six-team table qualify for the next round of the tournament. Atalanta Riders and New Jersey Legends are currently sitting at the bottom of the table.
