Playing for Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ishan Kishan scored a mammoth score of 173 in 94 balls against Madhya Pradesh. Jharkhand’s first innings score was 422/9 which is the highest score ever by any team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Ishan became the second highest scorer in the history of Vijay Hazare Trophy as Sanju Samson still holds that record after he scored 212 against Goa. This innings will boost Ishan’s and Jharkhand’s morale going ahead in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Ishan Kishan hit 11 sixes in his innings, second highest by any player in a single innings. The first is Yashasvi Jaiswal. The first 50 runs of his innings came in 40 balls while the last 71 runs came in just 20 balls, which shows how the batsman accelerated once he was in and was settled at the crease. A mark of a great batsman.

Ishan Kishan is a wicket-keeper batsman, he rose to fame when India won the 2016 U-19 World Cup under his captaincy. Rishabh Pant became a regular player in the team but Ishan hasn’t been able to find a regular place in the Indian side as there’s a lot of competition for the wicket-keeper batsman slot in the Indian team. Kishan plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and has played many crucial innings’ for the franchise. His career IPL strike rate is 136.84 which reflect that he is a big hitter of the cricket ball.

Earlier in the day, Madhya Pradesh had won the toss and put Jharkhand in to bat first. The MP bowlers wouldn’t have imagined that a catastrophe was waiting for them in the form of Ishan Kishan.
