Election Day was a family affair for cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar who went to vote at a polling station in Bandra, Mumbai along with his wife Anjali Tendulkar and son Arjun Tendulkar. The iconic cricketer’s son Arjun, who participated in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, is a first-time voter.

The family obliged fans and photographers outside the polling station, posing with inked index fingers held out.

"For a better tomorrow, it is necessary to exercise your voting rights today, I urge everyone to come out and cast their votes," said SachinTendulkar after casting his vote in Mumbai.

The elections are significant as it is the first assembly polls after Modi steered the BJP-led NDA to a resounding victory in the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year for a successive second term at the Centre.

Voting for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019 started on Monday (October 21) at 7am. Polling is expected to conclude at 6pm. Bollywood celebs including Aamir Khan, his wife Kirao Rao Lara Dutta, her husband Mahesh Bhupathi, and Kunal Kohli stepped out of their homes to cast their vote.
