Bangladesh’s right-arm fast bowler Mohammad Saifuddin is set to miss the upcoming T20I series against India, as he hasn't yet completely recovered from the back injury. The all-rounder was the second-highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in the World Cup 2019.

The Bangladesh Cricket team had named Saifuddin in the 15-member squad for T20Is against India, but now the board will look for other alternatives.

''I don't think he will be able to play [against India in the T20 series],'' BCB's chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz on Sunday (October 20).

''We will talk with Julian [physio] tomorrow to take a final decision, but what I understand is that it won't be possible for him to take part in the T20 series,"' he added.

Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin had expressed concerns over the fitness of the national squad’s fast bowlers ahead of India tour.

“We were really concerned about our pace bowlers, because right now, there are many players who are unavailable due to injury. If I make a list of ten players, then five of them will be on the injury list,” Abedin told PTI.

“Our pace bowlers are always criticised for their fitness levels. Now, however, the way we are prioritising our fitness from the first-class level, I think we will get the results in two years,” he added.

Bangladesh will play the first T20I against India on 3rd November at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
