The Indian batter KL Rahul shared a picture on his Instagram handle where he was seen working out at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Rahul is gearing up for his India return and thus was seen sweating out in the gym.


"Day 58 ..," he captioned the picture. The batter is recuperating from the injury he sustained during the recently passed IPL 2023 while playing the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on May 1.  As a result, the BCCI appointed Ishan Kishan as the replacement of KL Rahul in the World Test Championship final 2023 against Australia.






The Karnataka-based batter had a solid run in World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 cycle for India. Out of the 11 games he played, the batter made 636 runs at an average of 30.28. He also collected two centuries and two fifties in 21 innings, with best score of 129. India opener only informed last month that he underwent a successful thigh surgery.  He also thanked the doctors and all the medical staff who took care of him.

"Hi everyone, I just got done with my surgery - it was successful. A big thank you to the doctors and medical staff for making sure I was comfortable and everything went smoothly. I'm officially on the road to recovery now. I'm determined to get back to my best and get back on the field. Onwards and upwards!" he stated.


Currently, the Indian team is preparing for the upcoming series against West Indies as they will be playing two-Tests, three One-Day-Internationals (ODIs), and a five-match T20 International series, starting from July 12.
