Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer said that Kagiso Rabada had clearly stated he would attempt to bowl six yorkers come what may in the Super Over against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Rabada landed four perfect yorkers in the Super Over to defend the lowest total (10), leading Delhi Capitals to a 3-run win in a thrilling contest at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, New Delhi.

"Kagiso and I had a chat before the Super Over and he told me that he would go for yorkers all through, first, second, third, every ball. It takes some special skill to execute that," said Iyer after the match.

Both sides finished with 185 after the stipulated 20 overs and a Super Over was required to separate the winner. Batting first in the Super Over, the Capitals could manage to score 10 runs as KKR's young right-arm seamer Prasidh Krishna bowled a brilliant over mixing his length.

In reply, KKR decided to go with Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik. Dre Russ started off with a boundary through square-leg as Rabada missed his mark ever so slightly in the first ball. With only 6 to play, the South African fast bowler brought his A game to the table, giving away only 3 runs off his next five balls.

In between, he also cleaned danger-man Andre Russell with what is being described as the ball of the IPL in the third ball of his super over.

Rabada, on his part, said, "We weren't sure who was going to bowl and then Hopesy came up to me and said I was going to bowl that over.

"Obviously, lots of nerves. I just saw it as a simulation and glad it paid off. You have to keep your wits about you and be really clear on what you have to bowl. I just went with yorkers and it worked in the end. I was clear and backed my plan."

Iyer, however, admitted that his should have finished off the game with an over to spare.

"Definitely a long day at the office. We didn't expect it to go that deep, expected us to finish it with an over to spare," Iyer said after his side won the match in Super Over.

"Credit must go to Kuldeep Yadav for that over (last over)."

"All our batters decided that whoever gets going should take the side home, and Prithvi Shaw did that for us. Hopefully, he can continue doing it for us."

He said all the players were taking responsibility.

"I am really happy with myself as well because I refused to let the pressure come onto me after a few dots."
