Maharaj Requested To Play 'Ram Siya Ram' Song Every Time He Walked Out To Bat

Meanwhile, South Africa's white-ball vice-captain recently revealed that he had actually requested that the song 'Ram Siya Ram' be played everytime he walked out to bat in SA20.

"Obviously, something that I put forward to the media lady and requested that song to be played. For me, God has been my greatest blessing, giving me guidance and opportunity. So, it’s the least that I can do, and it also just gets you in your zone. It’s a nice feeling walking out (into the ground) to hear ‘Ram Siya Ram’ playing in the background,” he told news agency PTI.

The left-arm spinner has so far represented the Proteas in 50 Test matches, 44 ODIs and 27 T20Is, scalping 158, 55 and 24 wickets in them respectively. Maharaj is currently leading the Durban Super Giants (DSG) in SA20.
