In a news that spread faster than a wildfire, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik married actor Sana Javed on Saturday (January 20), confirming his separation with ex-India tennis star Sania Mirza. While there were several media reports suggesting all was not well between Shoaib and Sania, there hadn't been any official statement from either parties. However, a day after Shoaib posting his wedding picture with Sana, an official statement from Sania Mirza's family has confirmed that the two have actually been divorced for a few months now.
In no time, netizens began digging out old videos and picture to join the dots. While Shoaib had posted about Sana on X (formerly Twitter) in a post dating back to 2022, it was apparently mid-2022 that reports of turbulence first emerged in the relationship between Shoaib and Sania. And now an old video has resurfaced in which ex-Pakistani cricketer Misbah-ul-Haq can be seen taunting Shoaib over 'family issues.'
The video is from the sets of Pakistan cricket discussion show ‘The Pavilion’ on A Sports. While the anchor is seen asking why is Misbah so happy on the sets, Shoaib responds to it by saying it is so because he is away from family. To this, Misbah quickly responded by saying: "People think everyone has the same problems in their lives."
Take a look at the old video which has resurfaced post Shoaib's third marriage:
Shoaib Malik Equals Chris Gayle's Record On Return To Competitive Cricket
Meanwhile, a day after Shoaib married Sana, he made a return to competitive cricket. The former Pakistan captain plied his trade for Fortune Barishal in their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 match against Rangpur Riders in Dhaka. He also completed 13,000 runs in T20 cricket, joining West Indian legend Chris Gayle in the elite club. The two are the only cricketers in the world to have more than 13,000 runs in T20s.
