Karnataka’s stalwart batter Karun Nair declared that he will be shifting to a new team for the upcoming domestic Indian season. He came up with a heartwarming post and announced his decision to leave the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and join the Vidarbha Cricket Association. Ever since Karun started playing cricket, he has been associated with KSCA.
In an emotional post, Nair acknowledged the crucial role the association played in nurturing his talent and shaping him into the cricketer he is today.
"I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible journey I've had with the Karnataka State Cricket Association over the last two decades.”
The right-hand batter also thanked his coaches, mentors, captains, and colleagues for their unconditional support.
“From the very start of my cricketing career, KSCA has been a guiding light, offering unwavering support that helped shape me into the player I am today”, he added.
"A special thanks to my remarkable coaches, captains, and teammates who I've had the privilege of playing under and alongside. Your leadership, mentorship, support and belief in me have been instrumental in my growth as a cricketer," he said.
“As I embark on a new chapter with the Vidarbha Cricket Association, I carry with me the cherished memories, friendships, and skills I've gained during my time with KSCA. Thank you for being an integral part of my cricketing journey. Now onto the next exciting adventure”.
Karun was in the headlines back in 2016 when he scored a triple-century for India in a Test against England. He ended up making 303 runs in 381 balls against England at Chennai, becoming only the second batter after Virender Sehwag to collect a triple century for India in red ball format. KL Rahul also scored 199 in the same innings. Despite scoring a triple hundred, Karun managed to play only 6 Tests, and 2 ODIs for India, with his last appearance in 2017.
