Australia's second Test match of the two-match Test series against West Indies got underway at the Gabba in Brisbane on Thursday (January 25). Even though there were doubts over some of the Australian players' availability, eventually the Aussies fielded an unchanged playing 11 from the series opener in Adelaide. It is pertinent to note that not only did the Australian players Travis Head and Cameron Green tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the second Test match, even coach Andrew McDonald had been infected with the virus.
While Australia have fielded the same 11, interestingly only Head has returned a negative Coronavirus test before the start of the match. Green, on the other hand, will not get in contact with any of his teammates throughout the course of the match. Even McDonald has been separated from the rest of the contingent.
Although a picture of Green standing at a distance from the rest of his Australian teammates when the National anthem was being played had gone viral, later an incident was even captured in a video where in Australia's pacer Josh Hazlewood can be seen jokingly shooing away Green as Australia celebrated the fall of a West Indies wicket.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first in the second Test match. However, they were reduced to 64/5 in 25.2 overs with Mitchell Starc being the wrecker-in-chief for Australia scalping 3 wickets for 44 runs. Josh Hazlweood and Pat Cummins picked up a wicket each to put the Windies on backfoot. However, since then the partnership between Kavem Hodge and Joshua Da Silva for the sixth wicket bailed the visitors out of trouble. Both the batters have already scored half-centuries and continue to add runs for West Indies in the first innings.
