The Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue have reached Australia and started preparing for the mega event. In the absence of Bumrah, they have a 14-member squad. There are many players who will be playing in the World Cup for the very first time and one of them is the ace leg spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal.
The Haryana-based leg spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal has scalped four wickets in three T20Is. It will be interesting to see how he deceives the batters in Australia. Recently, Chahal spoke to Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, and Deepak Hooda on his show Chahal TV.
"It is exciting because a World Cup is a World Cup after all. I have been here before and have done well so I know the conditions and the grounds. Once our training starts, we will start planning the kind of deliveries that will work here accordingly," the wrist spinner said.
"When there's bounce in the wicket, you need not bowl fast as you can focus on bowling the top spinner. The batters might not always connect cross-batted shots here so as bowlers we are always in the game," he added.
The Indian team will play two practice matches against Western Australia on October 10 and 13, followed by warm-up matches against Australia and New Zealand before the World Cup. Team India won their last two bilateral T20I series against Australia and South Africa and will play their first match against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.
