India vs England 2nd T20I belonged to the heroics of Ishan Kishan. The young batsman thrashed the England bowlers even after losing early on in the innings. The batsman was showered with a lot of praises, even on social media. ABP News spoke with Ishan Kishan’s parents Suchitra Singh and Pranav Pandey after the batsman scored 56 off 32 balls in the 2nd T20I. Kishan was awarded the Man of the Match award for that performance.
Ishan’s father said that his son has been playing cricket since he was eight years old. He was the captain of his school team in Aligarh. Even after being born in Bihar, he decided to play for Jharkhand as Bihar’s board lost its affiliation with the BCCI. On the other hand, his mother keeps praying to God and thanking the almighty for ‘blessing’ Ishan.
Greetings from Nitish Kumar
Ishan Kishan is a local from Patna and has lived all his life in the state of Bihar. His mother said that after his match-winning performance, Bihar’s Chief Minster, Nitish Kumar called the family to congratulate them. She also said that even Bihar’s water resource minister, Sanjay Jha called the family to congratulate them on their son’s performance and invite Kishan’s father for lunch.
A House full of Medals
Ishan and his elder brother, both started as cricketers. Eventually, his brother became a doctor and stopped playing cricket. But as both their children were involved in cricket, Ishan’s parents say how their house used to be full of medals. “We never required bouquets or show-pieces to decorate our house as medals would occupy all the space,” said Suchitra Singh, Ishan’s mother.
Ishan Kishan plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and has previously held the post for India’s captain in 2016 U-19 Cricket World Cup. India lost that tournament in the final against West Indies. Along with that, Ishan Kishan is the player to score the highest individual score for Jharkhand in both Tests and ODIs.
Ishan will be next seen in the India vs England 3rd T20I.
