Jasprit Bumrah got married with TV presenter Sanjana Ganesan in Goa in a private ceremony. The wedding took place in an extremely secretive way. Reports say that only 20 people from either side were invited for the wedding. The couple got married in a traditional gurudwara wedding. The couple was extremely low-key about the marriage and not even their close friends say anything to the media. Jasprit Bumrah announced his marriage using a quote by the great writer, Kahlil Gibran from his book, ‘The Prophet’. The quote reads: “Love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.”

The book is a timeless classic which has been translated in to more than 100 languages. It is about a person’s journey of life. Gibran was born in Lebanon in 1883 but shifted to the United States in 1895. He lived in the US and his literary career flourished in the states. What made Bumrah quote Gibran is something only the fast-bowler could answer. Symbolism and surrealism were the dominating traits of Gibran’s art.

Bumrah shared the news about his marriage on his social media accounts. The groom and bride look lovely in the first pictures from the marriage. Take a look:

As the pandemic constraints are still in place and all the cricketers present in bio-bubble during the on-going cricket matches, none of Bumrah’s co-players attended the wedding. It is being said that cricketers and other BCCI officials will attend a reception ceremonial on a different date.

Nonetheless, Bumrah using Kahlil Gibran’s quote must have made a lot of bibliophiles happy.
