17-year-old Punjab batsman Prabhsimran Singh, who shot into limelight after scoring a strokeful 298 in the semi-final of Punjab U-23 District Cricket Tournament, became the biggest surprise of IPL auctions 2019. The 17-year-old right-hander went for a whopping 4 crore 80 lakhs to Kings XI Punjab. Another surprise of the bidding was a 16-year-old Bengal leggie named Prayas Ray Barman, who was picked up by Royal Challengers for 1 corer 50 lakhs.

Prayas Ray Barman, made sparkling debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, picking up four wickets in 5 overs. Barman, who has now become the youngest-ever crorepati has the skills to bowl leg-spin and also comes handy as a batsman. He is undoubtedly a mystery spinner as 20/4 are is best bowling figures. The 15-year-old will be seen joining Indian skipper Virat Kohli in RCB which is a great achievemt itself for the yougest crorepati.

Prabhsimran Singh will be rejoiced especially after he was dejected for being overlooked by the national selectors for the U-19 national team. Recently, during the semi-final of the Punjab U-23 Inter-District Cricket Tournament, Singh scored a brilliant 298 against Amritsar while playing for Patiala.

It took just 301 balls for Singh to play such brilliant knock (298-runs), 194 of those runs were in boundaries. Punjab's U-19 captain Prabhsimran hit massive 13 sixes and 29 fours but sadly fell short of making a well-deservd triple hundred by just two runs
