He announced that he won’t be a part of the Chennai franchise ahead of the start of next year’s Indian Premier League. (IPL) Although, he did not reveal any of his future plans of playing in the IPL or International cricket.

Many cricket fans are speculating that all is perhaps not well between Dhoni and Harbhajan. Reason being that Harbhajan did not mention Dhoni or any other CSK player in his Tweet. Netizens took to Twitter to express their opinion on the matter:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">U should have mentioned special thanks to Dhoni , because of him u were in CSK .</p>&mdash; kamalakar (@kamal2k22t) <a >January 20, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">But from single tweet he showed what he think for dhoni</p>&mdash; Prana (@Prana30060168) <a >January 20, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Harbhajan Singh is one of my idols....I always felt you are anyday better than Ashwin. But the way you shown disrespect towards Dhoni, the way you left CSK when they needed you most, you lost all my respects as well as of many fans....Anyways CSK has only given u love 🤘 Bye</p>&mdash; Shantanu Ghosh (@imshantanu2002) <a >January 20, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Fondly known as The Turbanator by his teammates, Harbhajan was a brute force for both the IPL teams he played for. He used to control the flow of runs in the middle overs and also used to be more than handy with the bat. He has 150 IPL wickets to his name. Harbhajan has won the competition three times with the Mumbai Indians team. He also captained the team to a Champions League Twenty20 in 2011.

He did not play the last season of IPL in UAE due to personal reasons.

The veteran off-spinner who has enjoyed an amazing run in Indian cricket in all forms of the game hasn’t played an International game since October 2015. Harbhajan has more than 700 International wickets to his name. He hasn’t retired from International criket, but his chances at selection look dismal with Ashwin, Jadeja and other spinners still in the ranks.
