The chief architects for SRH's empathic win over KXIP were their two swashbuckling openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, who spearheaded the batting efforts of the Orange Army by stitching a mammoth 160-run opening partnership. The century opening stand between the Australian-English batting duo helped SRH set up a challenging 201-run total on the board and exert pressure on the KXIP batting unit.
The Warner-Bairstow opening duo's 100+ opening partnership happened to be their fifth century stand in the IPL, moving them to the third place in the list of most 100-plus partnerships.

For the record, the most 100-plus partnerships list between any pair is topped by two batting duos from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Virat Kohli-AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli-Chris Gayle have put on over 100 runs on nine occasions.
SRH's erstwhile opening pair of David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan are placed third on the list with 6-ton plus opening stands. Interestingly, Dhawan's move to Delhi Capitals made a room for Bairstow.
The SRH openers who had a brilliant run in the last edition of the IPL by registering 4-century opening stands did not quite produce the same fireworks up the order in the opening two weeks of the season. However, with their first 100-plus run stand in the ongoing season, the pair has once again raised the alarm bells among the opposition as to how lethal they can be up the order.
Former Kolkata Knight Riders highly dependable opening duo of Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa, share the third spot with Warner-Bairstow with 5-century plus stands in the IPL.
