Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner re-wrote the record books in the IPL by becoming the first player in the history of the league to register 50 fifty-plus scores.


Warner achieved the 50-fifty plus scores milestone when he notched up a breezy 52-run knock for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Kings XI Punjab in Game 22 of the ongoing IPL 2020 encounter played at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai (UAE) on Thursday (Oct 8)

Warner also holds the record for the most half tons in the IPL with 42 fifties to his name. He is the runaway leader in the all-time list for most fifties in the IPL. Meanwhile RCB skipper Virat Kohli is second on the list with 42-fifty plus scores.

Warner's half ton against Kings Eleven Punjab also happened to be his 9th consecutive fifty-plus score against KXIP in the IPL. Overall, it was the prolific Australian opener's 11th half ton against the Punjab-based franchise in the coveted T20 league.

Sunrisers Hydereabad could post a daunting 202-run total on the back of a fifth opening century stand between their openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. While Warner strokes his way to 52 off 40 deliveries, Bairstow was the more destructive out of the two openers as he smashed 97 off just 55 balls.

Sunrisers Hyderabad went onto register their third win of the season as they beat Kings Eleven Punjab by a massive 62-run margin.
