Though MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings got knocked out in the league phase only this season, the team remained the talk of the town. The early elimination, in addition to the MS Dhoni's comeback for the first time since announcing his retirement from international cricket, made Chennai Supper Kings dominate the social media throughout the mega sporting event.

According to the reports, the yellow brigade were the most tweeted about team in IPL 2020 ahead of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Mumbai Indians (MI), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Delhi Capitals (DC).

Not just Dhoni's comeback, but even the Indian Cricket returned to our lives after a long hiatus owing to the Coronavirus pandemic. Hence, the opening match of the IPL 2020 held on September 19th between Mumbai Indians and CSK was the second most tweeted topic in this season.

Notable, the double super over game between MI-DC on October 18 stood in the third place on the list of most tweeted about matches.

Speaking of the most tweeted about player, both MS Dhoni and RCB Captain Virat Kohli remained the most talked about players of the 13th season of the IPL. Kohli guided his RCB to the playoffs after a gap of four long years but once again failed to make to the finals.

Not to forget the acrobatic efforts of Kings Eleven Punjab fielder Nicholas Pooran, his gravity-defying save on the boundary against Rajasthan Royals won millions of hearts, making the moment one of the top-five twitter moments of IPL 2020.

Pooran's acrobatic efforts came to the fore in the 8th over of Rajasthan Royals' batting innings when Sanju Samson smashed one delivery from spinner Murugan Ashwin which looked well hit to sail across the boundary for a six. However, just as when the ball seemed to clear the boundary , Pooran made a full fledged dive to pluck the ball in thin air and throw it back from outside the boundary to save his team six costly runs.
