It was yet another six hitting spectacle at the batting beauty at Sharjah as Rajasthan Royals pulled off a record breaking 224-run chase against Kings Eleven Punjab in Game 9 of the IPL 2020 played on Sunday (Sept 27).

Amidst belligerent strokemaker like KL Rahul, Sanju Samson and Mayank Agarwal making merry and hogging the limelight with their fireworks, there was one spectacular fielding effort by Kings Eleven Punjab fielder Nicholas Pooran which would arguably go down as one of the best fielding efforts in IPL history.

Pooran's acrobatic efforts came to the fore in the 8th over of Rajasthan Royals' batting innings when Sanju Samson smashed one delivery from spinner Murugan Ashwin which looked well hit to sail across the boundary for a six. However, just as when the ball seemed to clear the boundary , Pooran made a full fledged dive to pluck the ball in thin air and throw it back from outside the boundary to save his team six costly runs.

The outlandish efforts from Pooran looked unreal and left fans, critics and the cricketing fraternity at large bewildered.

Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar lauded the Superman like fielding efforts of Nicholas Pooran and hailed it as the best save he had seen in his life

"This is the best save I have seen in my life. Simply incredible!!," Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.
