Royal Challengers Bangalore head into the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League with an aim to end their title drought and clinch their maiden IPL title in UAE. The high profile and star studded RCB for long have underachieved in the IPL considering the luxury of T20 stalwarts both Indians and overseas they have enjoyed in their lineups over the 12 editions of the league.

The 'Red and Gold' Brigade have never been short of individual brilliance but have failed miserably to gel well as a unit to achieve their goals collectively...The 'Red and Gold' Brigade have reached the finals of the IPL on three occasions but ended up on the losing side with the most recent loss coming coming at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)  in the 2016 edition of the league.

Many experts and critics have pointed out at the RCB squads being very batting heavy over the years and questioned their lack of death bowling options which have cost them some big games at crucial junctures in the past editions of the league.

RCB once again has the team which can pose a major challenge to the contenders like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings..However, the biggest question remains is whether they get well together as a cohesive unit rather than again basking for individual glory

RCB will once again have a power-packed batting lineup with their prolific run scorer Virat Kohli and batting wizard AB De Villiers spearheading their efforts with the willow. The well thought of signing of Australian T20 skipper Aaron Finch definitely adds meat to their batting.

Yuzvendra Chahal will once again resume his duties as the lead spinner for the side and will have good company in the form of mystery spinner Washington Sundar. Meanwhile, the inclusion of Adam Zampa and Moeen Ali has defintely given RCB plenty of spin options to work with on spin friendly tracks in the UAE.

RCB have a well rounded seam attack with a fine blend of seam bowlers and tearaway speedsters. While Dale Steyn is very much a potent threat with his seam and swing, Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini can rack up serious pace to knock off a few stumps. Proteas seam all-rounder Chris Morris and Sri Lankan speedster Isuru Udana add depth to the fast bowling unit.
