The 3-match ODI series between England and Australia will culminate later in the evening on Wednesday as the two arch rivals lock horns in the series decider at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground at Manchester.

After losing the opening game by a slender 19-run margin, England staged a brilliant fightback to win the second ODI by 24 runs. The hosts inflicted a batting major collapse on the Australians and leveled  the series at 1-1, forcing the decider at the same venue where the previous two games were played.

Australia looked all but certain to wrap up the series when a third wicket century partnership between skipper Aaron Finch Finch (73) and Marnus Labuschagne (48) helped them be in sights with 232-run modest target but Chris Woakes and leg spinner a middle order collapse from where the visitors could never recover and the hosts scripted a memorable win.

Australia began the 3-match ODI series on a winning note and took a 1-0 lead after they beat England by 19 runs in the series opener played at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. The Australians win came on the back of brilliant half tons by Glen Maxwell and Mitchell March, and a fiery spell of seam bowling by their seamer Josh Hazlewood.

Australia could be bolstered by the return of their batting spearhead Steve Smith who missed out on the first two games due to getting hit on the head during a practice session ahead of the series opener at Manchester.
