Delhi Capitals (DC) clinched their sixth win in the ongoing thirteenth edition of the IPL with a 13-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2020 encounter played at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday (October 14).

The win over RR helped DC get back on top in the IPL 2020 points table and put them on the cusp of securing a berth in the play-offs for the season. While Delhi would be more than delighted to secure yet another win and build on their good performances in the tournament so far, their only concern would be an injury to their skipper Shreyas Iyer during the course of the match.

After the game got over, DC opener Shikhar Dhawan who donned the captaincy hat after Iyer left the field came for the post match presentation. Dhawan gave an update on Iyer's injury stating that even as the seasoned DC skipper was having a bit of pain, his shoulder was moving fine and the extent of the injury will be known by tomorrow.

During the 5th over of the Rajasthan Royals batting innings, Iyer had to walk off the field after injuring his shoulder while diving to save well struck shot by RR opener Ben Stokes. Iyer landed awkwardly on his shoulder and seemed to reel in pain. He immediately left the field but watched his team hold onto their nerves to pull off a nerve wrecking win against Smith-led side.

Speaking on Delhi's win, Dhawan said that he knew that RR don't have much of batting depth and they could come under pressure once the frontline batsmen were dismissed. He was satisfied with the team's all-round performance as things went as per plan once RR lost their top order.

"I am glad that we won this game. Coming back into this was a great team effort. Quite enjoyed it. We always believed we had a chance. We knew their batting is not that deep. We knew we could get into them if we got the top order," Shikhar Dhawan said.
