Chennai Super Kings might have succumbed to a third straight defeat in the ongoing IPL 2020 but there was something to cheer about for the 'Whistle Poddu' fans as their T20 stalwarts achieved some notable milestones during their team's 7-run loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who scored a gritty 35-ball 50 to stage a late comeback for CSK, brought up 2000 runs in the Indian Premier League. Despite Jadeja and Dhoni's late fightback, CSK eventually fell 7 runs short of SRH's 166 run target and lost their third game in the season.

Hailed as CSK's star all-rounder for over a decade, Jadeja became only the fourth cricketer to score 2000 runs and bag 50 or more wickets in the cash rich T20 league. He joined a select band of premier all-rounders like Shane Watson, Kieron Pollard and Jacques Kallis to achieve the double.

Jadeja who walked out to bat at No.6 when CSK were reeling at 42 for 4, took his time to get in but then changed gears to step up the acceleration by taking on seamer T. Natarajan and pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

'Jaddu' struck three boundaries off Bhuveshwar Kumar to give CSK a glimmer of hope but the pressure eventually got to the left-hander as he scooped one straight to Abdul Samad off the bowling off Natarajan to get dismissed for a valiant half ton. The quick fire half ton also happened to be Jadeja's first hanf century in his 174-match IPL career.
