The player auction for the 12th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to take place in Jaipur on December 18 at Jaipur closed around 5 pm on Wednesday evening. The BCCI finally declared the date and venue of the auctions on Monday.

Among the Indian players, star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is all set to enter the auction with a base price of 1 crore rupees. Apart from Yuvraj, Wriddhiman Saha, Mohammad Shami and Axar Patel will also have a similar base price of Rs 1 crore.

While Yuvraj did not have a really good IPL 2018 season, Saha has been out of the Indian squad for quite as few times.

The 27-year-old, Jaydev Unadkat is another Indian player who will enter the auction with a base price of 1.5 crore rupees. Earlier, Unadkat was bought for Rs 11.5 crore by the Rajasthan Royals, which made him the most expensive player of the last season.

For the first time, the auctions will be held in some other city than Bengaluru. It will be a one-day affair and where only 70 players — 50 Indians and 20 overseas — will be up grabs with eight teams left with a total purse of Rs 145.25 crore.

Finch and Maxwell have decided to pull out of IPL 2019 auctions keeping Australia’s packed home season in mind before the ODI World Cup in England. Not to forget the World event will be followed by the Ashes later next year.
