The IPL 2019 auctions will be held in Jaipur on December 18 (Tuesday). A total of 350 cricketers (4 cricketers including England captain Eoin Morgan were added to the initial list of 346 cricketers on Monday) will up for auction as eight IPL franchises will look to fill up the gaps in their squads for the 12th edition of Indian Premier League.

While 1003 players had initially registered, the final list has been pruned after the eight franchises submitted their shortlist of players to the IPL governing council.

The trimmed list consists of 350 players, who will fight for the 70 spots available. The auction will also see 119 capped, 229 uncapped and two players from the associate nations also go into the auctions. 

What is the highest base price for IPL auctions?

Like every year, the players have been divided into 8 price brackets. The highest base price is of INR 2 crore – a total of 9 cricketers are under this bracket and they will be auctioned first on Tuesday.

The base price bracket for the capped players are as follows- INR 1.5 crore, INR 1 crore, INR 50 lakhs.

What is unique about IPL 2019 auctions?

This is the first time two IPL auctions are taking place within 12 months. The auctions for the 11th edition took place in January this year, while the auction for IPL 2019 will take place in December 18.
