With Mumbai Indians finishing the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League registering fifth win by defeating first time finalists Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul has become the winner of the Orange Cap this season. The major milestone coming in for the first time in his career was assured after Delhi Capitals batsman Shikhar Dhawan walked out early during the final match being played between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai (UAE) on Tuesday.

Facing Jayant Yadav in the fourth over of the final match, Dhawan failed to sustain the attack and return the pavilion for just 15 off 13. Today's early return left him second on the Orange Cap list as he stood only 68 runs behind the Punjab captain.

While Dhawan finished the season with 618 runs from 17 games at 44.14 and a strike rate of 144.73, KL Rahul made a total of 670 runs from 14 games at an average of 55.83 and a strike rate of 129.34. Rahul has one century and five fifties on his score card while Shawan laced with two centuries and four fifties.

Speaking of the grand finale held on November 10, Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) emerged as the Indian Premier League (IPL) champions for a record extending fifth time after beating first-time finalists Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the IPL 2020 finals which just got over at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai (UAE).
