The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) has been slogging hard and trying to become a  dominant force globally. Under the coaching of Dev Dutt, the Indian team won the Champions Trophy in October 2022. They are now looking to clinch the  T20 World Cup which is slated to be played in Qatar from December 1 to December 12.


In order to dominate the tournament, the Indian Deaf Cricket Association declared a 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup 2023 where Virender Singh has been handed over the leadership duties while  Sai Akash has been appointed as the vice-captain.  The IDCA conducted a five-day coaching camp in Delhi from August 21 to August 25 where a total of 25 players participated. After analyzing the performances of all the players, the selectors came out with a list of 15 players for the impending world event.


Dev Dutt who is the head coach of the Indian Deaf cricket team is ready to face the challenges and he also lauded the chief selector Vinod Kumar Matta for being supportive.


“The preparations are going really well. Our chief selector, Vinod Kumar Matta has also been very supportive. Our aim is to win the T20 World Cup. We won the Champions Trophy recently and our next target is to lift the World Cup for India,” Dev said while talking to CricketNext.


Former India player Gursharan Singh also praised the Indian team for putting out outstanding performances on a consistent stretch.


“Playing for India is a matter of pride and honour. I just want this team to win the World Cup and wish them luck. They have been doing pretty well for quite some time. They won the Champions Trophy & a tri-nation series recently. This team is very talented,” Gursharan said.
