The Indian squad for the 5-match T20I series against the West Indies has been announced by the BCCI. Out of form batsman Virat Kohli and pacer Jasprit Bumrah have been rested. While KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav have made it to the list, subject to fitness. Spinner R Ashwin has also made a comeback to the team.

Whether form is the reason for Kohli being rested or a mild groin strain he had sustained before the first ODI against England is not yet clear.

Kohli has been going through an extremely poor form. His struggle with the bat can be gauged from the fact that the last century he hit came way back in 2019. Kohli's performance in the recently concluded Test match series against England wasn't impressive either as he could manage only 11 and 20 in Edgbaston Test, while in the two T20Is he scored 12 runs in total.

Earlier, the squad for the ODI series against West Indies was announced that saw big names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah being rested.

The five-match T20I series against West Indies will begin on July 29, after the Indian team finishes playing three One Day International matches with the host country beginning July 22.
